Open Water Course
Classes begin every week. A typical schedule would be optional orientation Friday from 6pm to 8pm for orientation, academic review, equipment purchases and gear issue for the class. Saturday morning is the first pool session followed by your first open water dives that same afternoon. Sunday morning you will finish your pool session and final two open water dives that afternoon. We offer a free BBQ lunch to all our students every Sunday.
Diver’s Paradise will furnish all equipment necessary Scuba gear for the course. This includes the tanks, regulator, buoyancy compensator and weight belt. Personal gear (mask, snorkel and fins) must be provided or purchased at the shop. We have a wide selection of gear available at the shop. Classes start on demand (Pool on site).
*The Open Water Scuba Class can be either PADI or SSI and can done using either a text book and DVD or with online learning prior to the water training.
The Advance Open Water course is designed to provide the novice diver a structured, well-supervised means to gain additional experience by involving students in various underwater tasks that broaden their awareness of the environment and their capabilities as divers.
Course Standards and Overview: The Advanced Open Water course consists of five open-water training dives in the following categories:
Core dive: Underwater Navigation (Compass and Natural)
Core dive: Deep Diving
Elective dives: Wreck, perfect buoyancy, photography, boat, fish ID and sometimes coral restoration.

General Information: The advance Open Water course will be divided into the following sections:
Classroom briefings: Advanced Skill Orientation and Physics, Physiology, Dive Tables
Five Open Water Dives.

Rescue Diver Certification
Learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver.
The Rescue Diver course is an important and crucial step in expanding a diver’s knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. The course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for individuals to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations, and render proper first aid. This is prerequisite for all leadership training (Divemaster, Assistant, Instructor, Open Water Scuba Instructor) Courses.
Course Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Diver Certification
Course Cost: The course fee is $475
Equipment: The student is to furnish all of his/her own underwater equipment, excluding tanks and weights. Gear is available for rent.
Text: The Rescue Diver Manual is included in the class. E Learning upgrade is available for $75
The Divemaster course is designed to encourage and prepare students for instructor level training and its importance cannot be overstated. The goals of the course are to enable its students to organize, conduct, and supervise recreational diving activities.
Course Prerequisites: Open Water Certification, Advanced Certification, Rescue Certification CRP and First Aid Certification. You must have 60 logged dives, be able to swim 800 yards and tread water for 15 min. Course Fee: The course fee is $895 and includes all of the dives.
Equipment: The student is to furnish all of his/her own underwater equipment, excluding tanks and weights.
Text: The Divemaster Manual crew pack ($429) is required for the course and is not included in the price.
